Hailing from the Kutch Region of Gujarat Ajrakh is a craft that is recognised for its distinct block printed motifs made through a labour intensive process using natural dyes like Indigo and Madder.

Bandhani or bandhej comes from the word " Bandh" means to tie and is a technique where different types of fabric pinching and knotting is used to resist the dye and obtain contrasting colour small square like designs all over the fabric.

Banarasi Brocade
Banarasi brocade is a specific woven textile all the way from the Bunkar bastis near the ghats of Varanasi made using the Jacquard loom punch card technique with gold and silver threads inserted into the Warp and Weft to make a particular motif.

Chikankari
Chikankari is a lucknowi embroidery technique of making herringbone stitches that act as a translucent shadow from the back of the sheer fabric , outlining from the front to build motifs . It is now also widely done on opaque cotton fabrics.

Zardozi is an ornamental embroidery technique done using a special method of catching and knotting of zari thread using a big Aari needle to stitch cut data, pearls , Dabka etc. onto the fabric as per the design to add a luxurious feel.

This year adding another feather to his hat the designer decided to launch some pieces of his own couture bags featuring the best of embroidery swatches from his archival collections and it is as impressive as we hoped.
